Conscious Families
Conscious Families aims to improve outcomes for individuals and their families by providing information and advice which will empower and support them to live their best life.
We combine scientific research on neurobiology with eastern philosophies on mindfulness to build self-awareness and resilience in individuals and groups.
Based in Brisbane, Australia, we offer face to face corporate training and coaching with individuals, teams, programs, organisations and inter-agency groups, across non-government and government agencies. Virtual or remote web-based training and coaching is available locally, nationally and internationally.
Our Mission
Conscious Families aims to promote self-awareness and consciousness, which empowers and builds in us the courage to break away from societal pressures.
We are particularly focused on improving the life trajectory of children and young people, by supporting the adults in their lives to foster their uniqueness.
We believe raising children and helping them reach their full potential is a monumental task, which requires conscious engagement by their parents, family members, teachers, and significant adults in their lives.

The Game of Life
Research suggests that children in Queensland have higher rates of vulnerability than other children in Australia. This is exaserbated by the pandemic and natural disasters, which disproportionately impact those who are already vulnerable. As a result, psychological distress is on the rise. COVID-19 has also put a strain on the availability of psychologists, hindering young people’s ability to get help.
But they need help. Early and enduring adversity affects brain development, physical and mental health, success at school, relationships, through to employment and income levels. Not interrupting this trajectory contributes to an intergenerational cycle of disadvantage. Currently, schools address mental health and well-being through a social and emotional learning curriculum. However, more preventative measures are needed.
The Game of Life provides an introduction to mindset and mindfulness strategies that aims to give children age-appropriate tools to navigate life’s challenges. It is delivered in as a fun and interactive presentation, using analogies aligned with common gaming practices to promote wellbeing skills. Follow up and small group sessions are available, tailored to the needs of the cohort.  Please contact 0412 469 661 to find out more about improving student wellbeing.
